We chose Portugal to manufacture in as we are interested in making a high quality product. As a brand we look to bridge the history and high quality of manufacturing in Portugal with a distinctly British 1970’s heritage feel and aesthetic. Being part of the E.U. ensures a fair wage and safe conditions to work in. We wanted to ensure that we could easily visit our manufacturers. We work with a women owned factory, where most of the employees are women.
We are both interested in the social and economic development of the country celebrating high quality craftsmanship that is handed down through generations from mother to daughter. We share the value that relationships are based on trust and respect and work closely together with them. We endeavour to improve the lives of the people we touch. We aim to conduct all dealings with integrity and authenticity.
Eco-consciousness: We care deeply about the environment and are doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint. We aim to minimise the environmental impact of making denim garments by using denim woven in Europe or Turkey, manufactured in Portugal, minimising the air passage and pollution. We use denim washes that are G.O.T.S. certified who are committed to using techniques to finish the denim that are not harmful to the environment or the people making them. We are committed to making classic quality pieces that are built to be worn season after season discouraging fast fashion. We aim to slow down fashion. Designed to indulge and created to last.
Our vision is that none of our product packaging, should end up in landfill or as litter, in our oceans or waterways. Our goal is that 100% of our packaging is reusable or recyclable. Our cardboard box is made of 80% recycled cardboard and is recyclable, re-usable and bio degradable. The tissue paper is recyclable. Our cotton shopper is reusable. Our ‘plastic’ garment bag is biodegradable.
