Jeaks™ Care Instructions

Follow these easy care suggestions to keep your Jeaks™ looking and feeling their best!

Washing

Find the label inside your Jeaks™ and read before laundering. It may have one or several of the care instruction symbols below. Here's what they actually mean (from left to right):

  • 30 degree wash (Cool wash in washing machine)
  • Do not use bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • 3 dots(Hot iron)
  • Do not dry clean
  • Drip Dry

How often should you wash your Jeaks™?

Denim aficionados would tell you to never wash your Jeans. While we wouldn’t necessarily follow that advice, we would say that Jeaks™ don’t need washing after every wear. It’s best to wash denim as little as possible to prevent shrinking & fading. Spot clean if they are stained but otherwise, washing after 4 to 5 wears should be fine. At the same time, you will be saving water and being kind to the environment.

How should you wash your Jeaks™?

Turn inside out. Machine wash using a cold setting of 30 degrees. Do not use bleach. Wash with other like colours.

Fading

The truth is that denim garments are subject to fading if machine-washed and dried. They will fade less if you hand-wash them. Soak them for up to 30 minutes in a tub of water using mild detergent. Rinse well and gently squeeze excess water out. Do not twist the legs to wring out water. A well placed towel under them will soak excess drips of water.

Drying & Ironing
How should you dry your Jeaks™?

Do not tumble dry. Drying them flat on a rack is the best way but you can also dry them on the radiator.

To avoid unwanted wrinkles, remove promptly from the washing machine. Turn the jeans right side out. Zip and button jeans and then drape them over a clothes rack.

Use a hot iron but do not use steam when ironing the stretch fabric panels.

Alterations

If your Jeaks™ need hemming, wash them first. Use a reputable alteration service and ask them to use the piece they cut off to do a practice line of stitching through both the denim and stretch fabrics.

Best way to store

The best way to store your Jeaks™ is to hang from the belt loops. This reduces unwanted creases and wrinkles. You can attach two S hooks onto a regular hanger and hang by the outside belt loops.

When hanging Jeaks™ don't use hangers with the clips. The clips can dig into your denim and create impressions on the waist or knees.

Another option is to fold your denim into stacks like you see in retail shops. To keep the panels crease-free, you can fold the Jeaks™ like mens’ trousers are folded with the zip on the outside edge and the panels lying flat on the inside.
