The Graysey Story - The Blouse
We had always wanted to launch with a blouse to go with the Jeaks™. It was important to show we aren’t a pure denim brand...that our intention is to be a non-seasonal womenswear brand. I wanted to use a sustainable material that also was breathable and felt really comfortable to wear. I sourced a lovely bamboo viscose that was made using organic bamboo.
My pattern cutter did a great job on achieving the fit I was looking for in the toile....cut close to the body but with complete ease of movement. The neckline is incredibly flattering and the cuffs are smocked. One of my favourite 1970’s details.
We found a sampling company in London and had two samples made; one in the print I had designed and one plain colour. I loved them and had to literally lock them away to not be tempted to wear them so they wouldn’t get stained before the shoot! I should also say that I have the same passion for the Jeaks but am happily wearing them around the house as I had several samples as well as the salesman samples made for the shoot.
I was very happy with the quality of the samples so we got a price for production and got the care and size labels made for them.
